Senja Trail Tour 2026

Wild Landscapes

Senja is one of Norway’s most dramatic islands, where sharp mountain peaks rise directly from the sea and narrow fjords cut deep into the landscape.

For seven days we explored this remote corner of the Arctic Circle on foot, moving through forests, across rocky mountain paths and along stretches of coastline with uninterrupted views.

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with clear skies giving us huge panoramic views across the island. One of the most memorable days started right from the front door of where we were staying, heading straight into the mountains and discovering a landscape that seemed to change around every corner.

The scale was hard to take in. Rugged peaks, endless water and almost no sign of the outside world. Senja felt wild in every sense of the word.

Seven Days in Dreamland

The trip was about more than simply covering kilometres.

Each day brought a different way to experience Senja, from trail runs and longer hikes to quiet moments by the water, cold swims and evenings spent together over good food.

We kept the days flexible, following the weather and letting the landscape shape the plan rather than rushing from one place to the next.

There was time to push ourselves on the trails, but also time to stop, take in the views and enjoy where we were.

That balance became one of the best parts of the trip. Seven days of moving through the mountains, exploring the coastline and sharing the experience with a great group of people.

Senja gave us the kind of week that stays with you long after you leave. Wild landscapes, long days outside, Arctic light and the feeling of being properly away from everyday life.
